The Pioneer Gun Club, established in the 1940's, will be barred from hunting on the Branchville Reservoir property after the borough council voted to terminate their lease to hunt on the land. Now the 450-acre property will be off-limits to all hunters.
The vote to disallow the club from hunting on the land reportedly stems from ongoing disagreements between the club and three of the hunters.
The borough was receiving $8,000 annually from the club in exchange for club members being permitted to hunt on the land and maintain the property.
