Connecticut Man Arrested on Weapons Charges in Newton

A Connecticut man was arrested on weapons charges on Friday, December 14 following a traffic stop in Newton. Edwin F. Roman was initially pulled over for having a headlight out on his Nissan Xterra.

When the 36-year-old opened his glove box the officer noticed what was later identified as two fully loaded magazines and a magazine holder in the compartment. 

During a pat down of Roman, the officer found a fully loaded .45 caliber handgun with holster on his waistband. Roman, who does not have a permit to carry a firearm in NJ, was charged with prohibited weapons and devices, unlawful possession of weapons and obstruction.
