Officer Ends Hours-Long Standoff by Singing 'White Christmas'

A Pennsylvania man surrendered during a nine-hour standoff after a crisis negotiator sang "White Christmas" to him. The standoff reportedly began when Nathaniel Lewis' sister-in-law went to check on him and Lewis fired four shots at her.

When officers arrived at the residence they called in a SWAT team and the Chester County Regional Emergency Response Team. At some point Lewis fired at the officers but luckily no one was injured.

Lewis surrendered around 7 a.m. on Wednesday, December 26 shortly after being serenaded over the phone. He's is facing charges that include attempted homicide and aggravated assault.
