A cow caused some chaos on Route 80 early this morning, December 27, after it escaped from a cattle truck. Police received a call around 2:41 a.m. regarding an injured cow on the highway near Paterson and dispatched six officers to help the animal.

After jumping off the second story of a cattle truck, the 1,000-pound cow also jumped over a guard rail. Officers were able to get the cow back over the guard rail and off the road.

Skylands Animal Sanctuary and Rescue in Wantage arrived to help officers wrangle the cow and brought it to a vet.
