Blairstown Police are warning residents about a phone scammer posing as a local priest. A woman received a text message on her cell phone from someone claiming to be Father Ronald Jandernoa, a pastor at St. Jude Church.

The texts asked the woman to get iTunes gift cards under the guise that they would be given to patients battling cancer. The scammer told the woman she would be reimbursed after buying three $100 gift cards, scratching off the back of the card, and sending him the pin number.

Luckily the woman knew better and didn't fall for the scam.
