A homeless man that allegedly choked and threatened to kill a woman that he was having an affair with has declined a plea offer. The plea deal would have reportedly sent Edgardo Lugo to prison for three years.
The 51-year-old was arrested on November 24 and has been lodged in the Sussex County Jail since then. Lugo reportedly admitted to threatening the woman, smashing her cellphone, and choking her for "about a minute" after his girlfriend found out about their affair.
The charges against him include aggravated assault, domestic violence, and terroristic threats. Since Lugo declined the plea, the state is marking the case for grand jury.
