A Byram man has been arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after hitting a police car on Thursday, January 10. Kevin Campbell was reportedly driving a white 2016 Subaru on Tamarack Road when he sideswiped Sgt. Brian Moreland's patrol vehicle.
Moreland suffered injuries and was brought to Morristown Medical Center for treatment. Campbell, on the other hand, refused medical treatment but was brought to Hackettstown Medical Center to have his blood alcohol content tested.
Campbell is facing a charge of fourth-degree assault by auto and motor vehicle offenses that include driving while intoxicated and reckless driving.
