Bridge work on route 565 has been pushed back due to weather-related delays. The project was supposed to take six months but it's now likely it will take a year to finish.
According to the New Jersey Herald, the 77 inches of rain Sussex County saw last year caused flooding to the cofferdams, which are supposed to keep stream water away from construction.
Sussex County Engineer Bill Koppenaal said that a lot of the remaining work requires pouring concrete, which needs to be kept warm. Residents can expect the project to be completed early this summer.
