A Sussex man has been arrested and charged with third-degree aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer for allegedly striking a police officer with his truck. According to the New Jersey Herald, Ian Schweizer was driving a 2005 Dodge Ram on January 26 when he struck State Police Trooper Conor McGrath's hand, causing a laceration.
McGrath was assisting another trooper with a motor vehicle stop when the incident occurred.
Schweizer is reportedly the driving force behind a lawsuit filed by six state troopers in April. The troopers allege that they were "uprooted or transferred and deprived of promotions" after pursuing a sexual assault charge against the 36-year-old.
