Jefferson Rescue Squad Finds Missing Dog After House Fire in Lake Hopatcong

A missing dog was reunited with it's owners following a fire at a Lake Hopatcong home on February 1, according to the New Jersey Herald .

Fortunately no people were inside the home at the time of the incident but the family pet, a small, long-haired dog ran out the front door. While Jefferson Township Fire Co. 1 and Co. 2 extinguished the fire Kelly Efchak, a volunteer member of the Jefferson Township Rescue Squad, looked for the dog.

She followed the direction where the dog had taken off and eventually managed to grab the it when it cornered itself in a fenced-in area. Though their home is uninhabitable, at least this family was reunited with their pup.
