Hopatcong's Shawna Longo Named TI:ME Teacher of the Year

A Hopatcong middle school music technology teacher has been named the 2019 recipient of the Mike Kovins TI:ME Teacher of the Year Award. Shawna Longo teaches grades 6-8, is the music supervisor for grades K-12, and serves as a STEAM facilitator and arts integration coach for the school district.

According to the New Jersey Herald , Longo received her bachelor of music degree from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. and a master of public administration in arts administration from Seton Hall University in South Orange.

In 2018 she was the recipient of the NJMEA Master Music Teacher Award and in 2016 she received the Governor’s Educator of the Year for Hopatcong Middle School.
