A Fredon woman who admitted to cutting her mother's neck and wrists has been sentenced to three years probation as part of a plea deal. According to the New Jersey Herald, Laura Perrelli suffers from bipolar disorder and schizophrenia and told a courtroom that she had been off of her anti-psychotic medication for two months prior to the incident.
The mother, who suffers from schizophrenia and dementia, was reportedly "acting out" and "going to the bathroom on the floor." Perrelli called the police herself two hours after the assault when she realized her mother was in poor condition.
As part of the deal, the 45-year-old plead guilty to third-degree aggravated assault.
