2,000 Power Outages in Sussex County Due to Wind, Vernon Schools Closed

Over 2,000 Sussex County residents are reportedly without power due to high winds. According to the New Jersey Herald, most of the outages are in Stillwater and all of them appear to be JCP&L customers as Sussex Rural Electric showed no outages this morning.

In addition to Sussex County residences, Vernon Township Schools are without power which caused them to close for today, February 25.

The following JCP&L outages were reported this morning:

  • Andover Township: 35
  • Fredon: 60
  • Hampton: 259
  • Hardyston: 190
  • Montague:20
  • Newton: 13
  • Sandyston: 44
  • Sparta: 425
  • Stillwater: 1,129
  • Vernon: 268
