A judge ruled today, February 25, that the Vernon man accused of overdosing, crashing his car, and subsequently killing three people will be detained pending trail. According to the New Jersey Herald, Jason Vanderee's attorney did not argue against detainment and said the 29-year-old feels an "overwhelming responsibility" for the deaths of Jon Warbeck, Luke Warbeck, and Lovedeep Fatra.

During the court appearance, the Passaic County Assistant Prosecutor noted that Vanderee had a similar car crash in 2016. In November 2016 Vanderee was driving on Route 80 when his car crossed two lanes of traffic and hit a guardrail. Officers reportedly administered Narcan to revive him and he was later charged with driving while under the influence.
