Not everyone in New Jersey is paying high property taxes. NJ.com took a look at what the average homeowner paid in 2018 and put together a list of the 30 towns with the lowest taxes.
Montague, one of two Sussex County municipalities to make the list, is 28th with average taxes of $4,229 in 2018, up from $4,097 in 2017.
The three towns with the lowest taxes are:
3. Woodbine: $1,947
2. Camden: $1,710
1. Walpack: $450 (It's worth noting that less than a dozen residents live in Walpack.)
