Dept. of Agriculture Investigating Deaths of Cow, Calves at Frankford Farm

The Sussex County Prosecutor's Office has asked the NJ Department of Agriculture to investigate the deaths of a cow and two calves from Winding Brook Farm in Frankford. According to the New Jersey Herald, the Dept. of Agriculture is responsible for reinforcing regulations regarding the treatment of domestic livestock.

First Assistant Prosecutor Gregory Mueller told the New Jersey Herald that the organization will "immediately focus on determining if any other animals on the farm are at-risk."

Depending on the results of the investigation, the prosecutor's office could file charges criminal charges against the owner of the farm animals.
