Sussex Man Facing Drug Charges, Tried Fleeing Scene of Car Accident

A Sussex man is facing drug charges after he allegedly tried to flee the scene of a car accident on Monday, March 18. According to the New Jersey Herald, James Conklin was the passenger in a truck that drove off the road and into an embankment near Route 23 and Route 517.

The 38-year-old fled on foot and was found about one-eight of a mile away. Police reportedly found marijuana in his possession and that he had a Sussex County Superior Court warrant for child support.

The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries and was taken to Newton Medical Center.
