Stanhope Woman Struck by Her Own Car While Retrieving Mail

A Stanhope woman was run over by her car while retrieving mail on Monday, March 18. According to the New Jersey Herald, the unidentified woman partially exited her vehicle to pick up her mail but didn't put the car into park.

The vehicle reportedly started to roll causing the woman to fall. The car ran over both of her legs and rolled down a hill into a neighbor's yard before coming to a stop.

The Stanhope resident was taken to a hospital with "non-life-threatening" injuries. She was also issued summonses for careless driving and riding on a part of a vehicle not intended for passengers.
