A fire that destroyed a truck in Montague on Sunday night is being considered suspicious by the county fire marshal. According to the New Jersey Herald, the New Jersey State Police and the Montague Volunteer Fire Department received a call around 10 p.m. about a Toyota Tundra pickup truck engulfed in flames on River Road.
The Sussex County Fire Marshal's and Prosecutor's offices investigated the scene of the fire along with the State Police Crime Scene Investigation unit. They determined that the fire was intentionally set and started in the interior passenger compartment.
The truck owner is reportedly a Pennsylvania resident and wasn't aware that the vehicle was missing.
