A Vernon resident and West Milford Teacher accused of asking a 17-year-old student to send him sexual videos in exchange for money has been allowed into the pre-trial intervention program. According to the New Jersey Herald, Christopher Shenise pleaded guilty to second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, specifically sexual conduct which would impair or debauch the morals of the child.
The 32-year-old was suspended with pay on November 20, 2018 and arrested on February 8th after a three-month investigation by the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office. According to police, the investigation started with information that was received from a faculty member and forwarded to school administration.
Shenise was a 2004 graduate of Vernon Township High School and reportedly started teaching in the West Milford school district in 2014. He had previously worked in education at Wallkill Valley Regional High School.
