Lafayette Woman Seriously Injured After Striking Tree in Sussex Borough

A Lafayette woman was seriously injured after her car struck a tree in Sussex Borough on Saturday around 7pm. According to the New Jersey Herald, Sydney Marshall, the sole occupant of the car, was driving a Honda Accord north when it drifted off Unionville Avenue and hit a tree.

State Police Sgt. Lawrence Peele told the New Jersey Herald that the 20-year-old was transported to Morristown Medical Center via helicopter and was in "serious but stable condition." Marshall was reportedly released from the hospital on Sunday.

The circumstances and cause of the accident are currently under investigation.
