A former Sussex County corrections officer is in jail after being charged with simple assault and aggravated assault. According to the New Jersey Herald, Christopher Lynch was arrested on Monday evening and charged with simple assault of a female. Later that night he allegedly got in a verbal altercation and struck an unidentified male.
The male victim was reportedly brought to Newton Medical Center for initial treatment but had to be transported to Morristown Medical Center for further treatment.
Lynch was arrested on Tuesday and charged with one count of aggravated assault. The 40-year-old has reportedly been remanded to the Morris County Jail and is awaiting a bail hearing.
