A man was arrested for carjacking and robbery in Byram on Monday. According to the Byram Police Department, officers were dispatched to Waterloo Road just before noon where a resident said that while she checked her mail across the street, Albert Hutchinson tried to steal her running and unattended vehicle from her driveway.

When the unnamed victim confronted Hutchinson, he reportedly abandoned the car and fled on foot. He then allegedly accosted a second victim in the parking lot of a local business on Route 206 and demanded the keys to the victim's car. The victim went inside the business to get away but Hutchinson followed him and physically threatened him.

Hutchinson is facing charges that include first-degree carjacking, second-degree robbery, and third-degree motor vehicle theft.
