A woman was arrested on April 18 after she abandoned a one and a half year old cat in the parking lot of the Byram ShopRite. According to the Byram Police Department, Georgina Rodriguez, of Washington, NJ, allegedly abandoned the cat but the animal ran under her car before she could leave.

Witnesses reportedly confronted Rodriguez before calling the police. When officers arrived they reviewed surveillance footage and subsequently charged Rodriguez with abandoning a domesticated animal.
