10-week-old Puppy Found Dead in West Milford,$1K Reward Offered

A $1,200 reward has been offered for information leading to the person that drowned a 10-week-old puppy in West Milford. According to NJ.com, a rescue officer with The Last Resort Rescue found the golden retriever puppy dead inside a crate near the edge of Greenwood Pond on Tuesday.

The dog was reportedly "soaked" and "ice cold" with vegetation hanging on the crate. A $22 crystal vase was also found inside the cage.

West Milford Police Chief Timothy Storbeck and Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes told NJ.com that the incident is under investigation but "at this time there are no suspects or leads."

The Last Resort is offering a $1,200 reward for information “leading to a conviction of the person responsible.” Anyone with information can call investigators at 1-877-370-PCPO, 973-728-2801 or email tips@passaiccountynj.org.
