Sparta Man Found Asleep Behind Wheel of Car with Hypodermic Syringe in Hand

On Monday night, April 29, a Sparta man was found asleep behind the wheel of his car in White Deer Plaza with a hypodermic syringe in his hand. According to the New Jersey Herald, Christopher Sheppard reportedly admitted to injecting heroin earlier in the night and seven empty wax folds were found in his car.

A police officer was reportedly dispatched to White Deer Plaza after receiving a report of a vehicle with its engine running in a parking spot with the driver asleep at the wheel. The 36-year-old is facing charges that include possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
