Wild West City closed unexpectedly over the weekend, seven months after the death of the park's principal owner Michael Stabile Jr. According to the New Jersey Herald, anyone that arrived at the park this past weekend was handed a flyer that read:
"Howdy, we regret to inform you that the estate of Michael Stabile Jr. has closed the park. Despite numerous attempts to transfer the park into an entity that could continue to operate it and keep it in the Stabile-Benson Family ... this could not be achieved. If there are any issues or outstanding business, those issues must be addressed with the estate.
Stabile's son, Michael Stabile III, is reportedly the administrator of the estate.
