A sword-wielding New York City man that was accused of attacking a bride on her wedding day has accepted a plea deal. According to the New Jersey Herald, Carlos Mejia pleaded guilty to fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and the state recommended he serve 30 days in the county jail and a term of probation.
Mejia was staying at Crystal Springs Resort in September for something related to work when an argument reportedly broke out between the 43-year-old, a bride and her bridal party. After Mejia went into his room, the bridal party allegedly knocked on the door and yelled at him. That's when Mejia walked out of his room, started swinging a sword at the women, and threatened to kill the bride before cutting her arm and causing a non-life-threatening injury.
His sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 8.
