Planning a trip with your pet this summer? Make sure you're prepared to travel with your furry friend with these tips from Mental Floss.

Don't fill your pet's crate with toys. "Less is more" according to veterinarian Dr. Danielle Bernal. You want to give your pet plenty of room in their crate so they can move around and adjust their position.

Make sure you have all the correct paperwork. Your pet will need to be up-to-date on vaccinations required by the state or country you're traveling to and you'll need to see if an up-to-date health certificate signed by an accredited veterinarian is required.

Make your travel destination feel like home. Keep your pet calm by making your vacation spot feel like home with things that are familiar to them like toys, a bed, blanket, etc.
