The 50 Best NJ Private High Schools for Sports in 2019

It's no secret that some schools have better sports programs than others. NJ.com took a look at data from the U.S. Department of Education and compiled a list of the 50 best private high schools in the state for sports.

One Sussex County school made the list. Pope John XXIII in Sparta landed in the 22nd spot with a national ranking of 1,161 which is 16 spots up from their ranking last year.

Here are the top three schools:

3. Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft, Monmouth County was ranked nationally at 68, which is three up from last year.

2. Gloucester Catholic in Gloucester City, Camden County was ranked nationally at 56, which is 24 up from last year.

1. Seton Hall Prep in West Orange, Essex County was ranked nationally at 54, which is 8 up from last year.
