The Newton pool will reopen in 2020 after the Town Council approved making repairs and upgrades to the facility. According to the New Jersey Herald, representatives from Suburban Consulting Engineers presented three options on how to proceed and Thorlabs has offered a $50,000 donation to help pay for repairs.

According to the New Jersey Herald, Councilman Matt Dickson said “let’s do what we can to get [the pool] open" and then look into other improvements.
