All aboard! Operation Toy Train is returning to Sussex County this November to collect toy donations for underprivileged children. According to the program's website, over 25,000 toys are collected each year for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Foundation, which then redistributes them in the collection area.
On Saturday, November 30 the train will stop at Sparta Train Station at at 3:30pm and the Vernon Recreation Center at 4:20pm.
During the 30-minute train stops members of the public can drop off toys, take pictures with Santa Claus, view working railroad equipment and meet members of the Marine Corps and Operation Toy Train.
Can't make it on the day of the train stop? Donations of new toys in original packaging (no gift wrapping) can be dropped off ahead of time to the Sparta Train Station and Kuiken Brothers in Wantage.
