Child & Driver Critically Injured After Car Accident in Franklin

On Monday night two people were critically injured in a car accident on Corkhill Road in Franklin. According to the Sussex Daily Voice, the unidentified driver was headed southbound with a juvenile in the front seat when he or she lost control of the car.

The car reportedly crossed over the center line, hit a traffic sign then an embankment and overturned before striking a concrete wall, ejecting the driver. The car continued to overturn and hit heavy brush then a block retaining wall and vinyl fence at a nearby house.

Both the driver and child were taken to Morristown Medical Center via ambulance.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the Franklin Borough Police Detective Bureau at 973-827-7700 extension 237 or 231.
