Sussex County COVID-19 Update: 3 More Cases Announced Today March 22

Three additional Sussex County residents have tested positive for COVID-19. According to a March 22 press release from Sussex County Freeholder Director Sylvia Petillo and the Sussex County Department of Health and Human Services, the new cases are two Sparta residents and a Hopatcong Borough resident.

This brings the total to 15 coronavirus cases in Sussex County as of Sunday, March 22. Including the new cases, the town-by-town case totals are as follows:

  • 1 case in Andover
  • 1 case in Byram
  • 2 cases in Frankford
  • 1 case in Hampton
  • 1 case in Hardyston
  • 2 cases in Hopatcong Borough
  • 5 cases in Sparta
  • 1 case in Newton
  • 1 case in Vernon

The SCDOH is currently working to identify individuals who came into contact with these residents. Anyone identified as a close contact, per New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) guidelines, is directed to self-quarantine and is being monitored by the SCDOH.
