Port Jervis police are investigating after several gunshots were fired in the city on Saturday night. According to the New Jersey Herald, the incident occurred on Ball Street between the intersections of Seward and Pennsylvania avenues.

No injuries were reported but the police told the newspaper that they "believe the intended victim was specifically targeted and that this was not random.” A preliminary investigation reportedly determined that a person emerged from a yard and fired several shots at a Port Jervis male that was standing outside his own home smoking a cigarette.

Anyone with information related to the shooting is asked to call the Port Jervis Police Department at 845-856-5101.
