The Sussex-Wantage School District has switched to virtual learning after someone at the Clifton E. Lawrence School tested positive for COVID-19. In a letter to families, Superintendent Scott D. Ripley said the individual is asymptomatic and the Sussex County Department of Health has concluded contact tracing.

Schools in the district will continue virtual instruction through Friday, October 19th before returning to in-person instruction on Monday. Ripley noted that the decision to switch to remote learning was made after speaking to the Department of Health and after consulting the district's nursing staff and physician. He added that not every COVID-19 case in the district will result in remote learning but that he felt "it is prudent to take decisive action to neutralize this issue and ensure our health and safety."
