A psychotherapist and elementary school teacher in Maine are now teaching classes on how to be an adult. For $19.99 Rachael Weinstein and Katie Brunelle teach millennials about cooking, home repair, health and other things they need to know to survive on their own. Many people feel parents are to blame for their adult children's inability to do things on their own because they shielded them from problems when they were young. I agree with this theory. I know some parents who never let their kids watch the news so they only see "good things." I always encouraged my kids to watch the news. Today, my kids are 19 to 34 and, with a few exceptions, they're all good about doing things on their own. They do need to work on making doctor appointments and actually going into the bank to talk to someone when there's a problem. They'll get there.
