I'm not one who believes in going overboard with warning labels. Especially, on fresh fruit and vegetables. However, some doctors in Great Britain might have a strong case. They claim "Avocado Hand" is on the rise and something needs to be done to warn people. "Avocado Hand" is when people cut their hand trying to slice into an avocado's rubbery skin to remove the pit. On Saturdays when avocados are a popular brunch item hospitals in Great Britain get a surge in patients who are cutting themselves on the healthy green veggie. I'm not sure if the same thing is happening in the United States but if you enjoy avocados be careful when you slice one open. I've cut my hand slicing an apple a few times. Maybe we should put warning labels on apples too. If this ever happens here I wonder whose job it will be to put the labels on?
