Airline crews in New York are gardening at JFK

I saw this story and just had to share it with all of you. Right now I'm growing cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers and pumpkins in my garden at home and it is a nice way to calm down after a stressful day. Planting and getting the baby plants started is work but once they start to grow it is very rewarding. Just water the garden everyday and let God and nature do their magic.

In New York City a Jet Blue Airlines crew is also gardening to deal with their stressful jobs, right there at the airport. The terminal 5 farm, as it's called, has over 1,700 volunteer slots available from 9AM to 1PM May through October. All the plants are grown inside milk crates at JFK Airport in Queens.

The "farm" started with only 420 slots a few years ago. Employees all pretty much agree gardening helps them keep a positive mind set. One thing I love to do is share the fresh veggies I grow with my co-workers here at the radio station. My tomatoes have been lovingly called "Andrews Estate Tomatoes."
