Two new studies show just how much people care about animals and it's often much more than people. One study out of Northwestern University asked people to donate money to a dog or a human in a dire situation. More people gave money to the dog.
The second study measured people's sympathy to a human and a dog after seeing reports they were attacked. People felt more stress after hearing about a dog that was attacked than a human who was attacked. Only an attack on a baby generated more empathy than an attack on a dog.
Well, I think dogs in many cases are more loving and loyal than humans so I'm not so surprised at any of this.
