My Weekend in 5 pictures

I took a few days off from the radio show to get caught up in my house and for the holidays. It was time well spent. One of the first things I did was clean out the coat closet. Since it's the first closet when you walk in my front door it always becomes the space that time forgot. Coats and sneakers that don't get worn anymore just stay there forever. Since I knew Subaru World of Newton was accepting donations of new and gently used coats for Project Self Sufficiency this would be the perfect time to make room. When all was done my closet looked and smelled great (Thank You Fabreze). Project Self Sufficiency got 5 new coats and the Salvation Army Store in Port Jervis got 5 pairs of gently used sneakers my son's decided to donate.

I also finished my Christmas shopping with a last minute decision to buy new pajamas for myself and my sons. I have one son who keeps taking mine. Now he has his own plus my old pair! Many gifts were wrapped this weekend too. Even though my kids are grown they still ask me to wrap the gifts they don't use gift bags for. This is fine because I still have years worth of wrapping paper stored in my attic.  Last year several Christmas gifts my daughter ordered for my grand daughter were actually stolen right off her door step. This year everything is coming to my house. The main reason I've been doing a lot of wrapping. I haven't lost my touch.

Cream pies were on sale at the supermarket and I had a coupon. Dessert for Christmas dinner is taken care of and as I told you on the radio last week. There's nothing wrong with making it easy on yourself. Finally, I got create in the kitchen and the results were fantastic.  Bear Creek makes a dry vegetable beef soup mix that I got on sale with a coupon a few weeks ago. I've been looking for a reason to make it. I also had a craving for french fries with brown gravy. So I bought two pounds of stew meat browned it in a frying pan and added it to the soup. Then served it over french fries. The reviews were fantastic!
