I've worn glasses since I was 5 years old. During my teenage years my vision improved but I still needed glasses. Now I'm in the bifocal stage. When I was in school hardly anyone called me "four eyes." As more of my friends got glasses we actually bonded over having them.
A new survey out of the U.K. may surprise people who wear glasses but it doesn't surprise me. The survey says one third of people believe glasses make a person look smarter and one fifth of people believe glasses make a person look more trustworthy.
As far as how eyeglass wearers feel about themselves: 63 percent like they way they look wearing glasses. About 40 percent of people who wear glasses feel better when they're wearing them compared to when they're not. The survey also says 20 percent of men think glasses make a person look more attractive.
I accepted glasses as a part of my life a long time ago. Contacts are just too much work. As for looking more attractive, intelligent and trustworthy sure I'll go along with that!
