My weekend in 5 pictures

Both days this weekend were cold and wet. That kind of weather makes me want to just stay in the house. Which pretty much was what I did this weekend. On Friday I volunteered at my church's first youth group fun night. I think the adults had just as much fun as the kids.

Saturday was my day of accomplishment. After a trip to the post office and supermarket I washed my kitchen floor. As you can see, for a few minutes it looked great. By the time I left the house this morning the mud and salt from our shoes were starting to make the floor look grimy again.

Then I moved on to my electric fireplace. My daughter and her boyfriend found a mantle fireplace in the rental apartment in his home. The wood mantle was shot but the inside electric fireplace worked. So the last time I was there I decided to take it home and see if it would fit in the mantle I have with a broken unit inside. It was a perfect fit! I was going to toss out the mantle. Now I'm very happy I didn't.

My adopted 13 year old cat Daisy continues to do well. She and Maddie are sharing me a little better now. She even looked at me for a picture. To be fair I have also included a picture of Maddie. On weekends with cold wet weather my house always feels chilly.  Maddie knows how to stay warm and comfy in the guest room bed. Just look at her face. She knows she has it made!

Finally, my son Matt returned from his weekend away with a container of our favorite cookies. There was a Trader Joe's on his way home so he stopped in to pick up some oatmeal cranberry dippers. I think they have some ginger mixed into the recipe too. Matt and I can't stop eating them. They are so good.  Especially when you dip then in a cup of coffee.  As you can see from the picture. They're already half gone. I wish Matt bought more than 1 container.
