Shop Rite plans approved by Wantage and Sussex

Hundreds of jobs and a brand new supermarket are coming to Sussex County!

Plans for a new Shop Rite took a big step forward this week. The Sussex Borough Planning/Zoning Board and the Wantage Land Use Board approved plans for a new supermarket that will sit on the border of Sussex and Wantage. At one time the property was the site of the Econopac Cookie Factory. There will also be a new traffic light installed at the intersection of Route 23 and Wiebel Plaza.

RoNetco Supermarkets expects to hire 70 full time associates and 150 part time associates for the new 92 thousand square foot store.  The parking lot will be on both sides of route 23.

Since plans are still in the early stages and construction is not underway there is no word on when the store will be open.  As most of you know food shopping is one of the ways I relax.  I'm looking forward to having a new supermarket to visit on my way home from work.  Click below to read more about this story.
