No added Pre-K aid for Sussex Schools so far

One way to gather news is to see how a statewide story impacts a local community. Of course, the local community I care about is Sussex County and Northwest New Jersey. So when I saw that Governor Murphy was adding 20 Million dollars in state aid for school districts pre-k programs. I thought checking for Sussex County schools on the list would be a good local news story.

Well, I was pretty surprised to see not one dollar of that additional pre-k money will go to help schools in Sussex County. There are no schools in Warren County on the list either and only one school district in Morris County.

The governor says more money for pre-k programs is coming in the future.  I guess for now the taxpayers of Northwest New Jersey will have to wait for our share.  It looks like pure politics to me.
