My "Catch Up" weekend in 5 pictures

I always take a few days off before Christmas to get everything in my life "caught up" so I can relax the week between Christmas and New Years. Of course, we're never really totally as caught up as we want to be. I do make good progress every year though.

I took a day off from the morning show on Friday to run errands, clean and Christmas shop. On Friday morning I listened to the performances by Long Pond School Bell Choir and Allamuchy School Chorus while I scrubbed my kitchen floor. As you can see the water. The floor really needed a good cleaning. Listening to the Kids Christmas Concerts while I scrubbed made the dreaded job much easier.  Then it was off to Milford to renew Maddie's dog license. She's legal for another year. On the way home I bought gift cards for all the people on my nice list.

On Saturday I got up early and went to the lab to leave some blood for my annual physical. The blood looked pretty good to me. In the afternoon, I watched the Army Navy game with my cousin in Los Angeles. We were texting back and fourth most of the game. It was like he was right there with me. I loved it. Then my stepson and his daughter Shyann met Gracie, Kim and me at the mall. Busy Beez is a kids play area and Gracie and Shyann have a great time there. Chasing Gracie through all those narrow tunnels and passages on my hands and knees was quite a challenge. I'm still a little sore. It was great exercise.

On Sunday I tried a recipe for turkey breast in a slow cooker. I've done this before but never tried it with onion soup mix. Going in the soup mix on the turkey looked a little weird but the end result was delicious. We had stove top stuffing, Bob Evans Mashed potatoes and steam fresh veggies as sides It was like Thanksgiving Dinner only much less work.

Finally, my son James gave me a very nice pair of boat shoes.  He only wore them a few times before he bought a pair he liked better. They still look great.  But since they have been worn do they qualify as an early Christmas present. Either way I love them.
