Sussex County Priests are among N.J. Diocese credibly accused

This is very sad for me. I have know so many wonderful individuals who have dedicated their lives to helping others in the Catholic Church. I grew up in working class neighborhoods in Hudson County and the Catholic Church was always there to help the needy. I met and learned from many wonderful priests at Seton Hall University. Over the course of my 30 plus years in radio I have seen first hand the dedication and love many local priests and sisters. Yesterday the 5 New Jersey Dioceses released the names of 180 priests who have been credibly accused of child abuse. The list does not say when the priests served. Some have passed away and none of the priests on the list are serving in local churches now. By definition, "credibly accused" means the church feels there is "some merit" to the accusation. Here are the nine priests who served in Sussex County that are on the list: William Cranmer (Our Lady of the Lake Sparta) Francis Dennehy (Immaculate Conception Franklin) Stanislaus Durka ( St. Thomas Ogdensburg) Patrick Erwin (Our Lady of Fatima Highland Lakes) John Heekin (Immaculate Conception Franklin) Walter Pruschowitz (Immaculate Conception Franklin) James Scott (Pope John High School and Our Lady Star of the Sea Hopatcong) Ronald Tully (Immaculate Conception Franklin) John Wall (Our Lady Queen of Peace Branchville)
