Dinosaur footprints arrive at Sterling Hill Mining Museum

Sterling Hill Mining Museum in Ogdensburg has always been a cool place to visit. Now it's even more fascinating. The Tilcon Development Company recently donated a five foot by three and a half foot long piece of rock that shows fossilized footprints of a Grallator. A dinosaur that stood about 7 feet tall and roamed around New Jersey about 200 million years ago. The rock contains five or six "beautiful"prints according to Sterling Hill Mining Museum President Bill Kroth. The rock was discovered in Clifton 17 years ago when Tilcon was quarrying rock near the intersection of Route 3 and Route 46. Tilcon had the rock on display at it's headquarters in West Nyack for many years. When the company moved to a new location they decided to donate the fossilized footprints to Sterling Hill Mining Museum so many more people can learn from them.
