N.J. N.Y. and Pa. Governors announce even more Thanksgiving restrictions

So how many people can you have over for Thanksgiving Dinner in your state? Well, that answer depends on what state you live in. Governor Murphy and Governor Cuomo in New York have limited indoor gatherings to 10 people. In Pennsylvania, State Health Director Dr. Racheal Levine has "recommended" only members of the same household should celebrate Thanksgiving together. Pennsylvania state officials have been ordered to pay a little bit more attention to the Constitution. However, yesterday Dr. Levine ordered all alcohol sales and bars closed on Thanksgiving Eve. One of the busiest nights of the year for bars and restaurants. Meanwhile, much to the chagrin of Governor Cuomo and Murphy. Police departments in New Jersey and New York have no plans to go door to door searching for families that might have 11 people at their Thanksgiving table. Roselle Park Police Chief Dan McCaffery told NJ.COM: "You don't have a warrant to enter someone's house. So unless you look through a window or got a call, you really don't know how many people are inside that home." In New York State a press release from Saratoga Country Sheriff Mike Zurlo said: " I can't see how devoting our resources to counting cars in citizens driveways or investigating how much turkey and dressing they've purchased is for the public good."
