While Republicans in Virginia are celebrating a stunning win in the gubernatorial race last night. New Jersey's race for governor is still too close to call. Yesterday polls were giving Governor Phil Murphy and 8 point lead over Republican Jack Ciattarelli. This morning Murphy is trailing by about 1,500 votes with 97 percent of precincts reporting. In the 24th legislative district which covers all of Sussex, Warren and part of Morris County. Republicans were easily re-elected. With 100 percent of precincts reporting, State Senator Steve Oroho received over 50,000 votes to Democrat Fred Cook's 21,000. In the State Assembly race: Parker Space and Hal Wirths were re-elected with comfortable margins. Space topped all candidates with over 44,000 votes. Wirths won his seat with close to 41,000 votes. Their Democratic opponents Georgianna Cook and Scott Fadden received 16,000 and 15,000 votes respectively. Incumbent Republican Sussex County Commissioners Dawn Fantasia and Chris Carney won their races. Fantasia lead all candidates with 29,400 votes followed by Carey with 27,600. Democrat Scott Paul got 10,000 votes and fellow Democrat Mike Vrabel received 9.600 votes.
